Today we are going to be showing you how to setup your EasyChannel Product Catalog to easily import products into your catalog. There are several different ways to do this, and we will walk you through each and show you the optimal settings for each method. If you are still having issues with importing products after reading this article, make sure you check our Troubleshooting article, here.

Import Products from Channel

  • The first way method we are going to discuss is importing products from a channel. To do this you have to already have products listed on one of your selling channels to be imported.

  • To do to this we first need to reach our Product Catalog by selecting the Products tab on the main menu.

  • Make sure you are in the All Products section of your catalog.

  • Next, in the top right-hand corner of your screen, select Import Products, and then Import From Channel.

  • A pop-up window will appear and ask us to make some decisions. The first thing we have to do is set what channel we want to import our listings from. We are going to use our eBay store.

  • The next section asks us to decide what happens when EasyChannel finds a duplicate listing. Decide how you want EasyChannel to handle Overrides and Merges.

  • When you're ready to import click the blue Import button to start importing your listings.

  • Messages in the top and bottom of your workspace will confirm that your listings are being imported.

Create New Products From CSV

  • The second method of importing products is by creating new products using a CSV file. To do this we will reach our Product Catalog by using the Products tab on the main menu.

  • Make sure you are in the All Products section of your Product Catalog.

  • Use the Import Products button in the upper right-hand corner of the workspace and choose Create New Product with CSV.

  • This brings up our Create a Product with CSV screen. The first thing we need to do is decide where our CSV file is coming from. Choose the option that matches the location of your file and find your CSV file.

  • The next section is the Mapping section. if you have presets, you can select your Mapping preset. If you do not have any presets, you must choose which fields to import and what field to map them to in your catalog. You must map the file so that the Matching Channel from CSV and EasyChannel Products Field match up to corresponding product fields .

  • Fields that you don't want transferred over can be marked Don't Import to be left with a blank value.

  • Once you are done mapping your product, click Start Import to begin importing your products. If you'd like to save your mapping options for future imports use the Save Mapping Presets button.

Update Product From CSV

  • The last method of importing products is by updating products using a CSV file. To do this we will reach our Product Catalog by using the Products tab on the main menu.

  • Make sure you are in the All Products section of your Catalog.

  • Use the Import Products button in the upper right-hand corner of the workspace and choose Update Products with CSV.

  • This brings up our Update Product with CSV screen.

You must map the file so that the Matching Channel from CSV and EasyChannel Products Field match up to corresponding product fields. So in this example we are going to match our EasyChannel Manufacturer field to our CSV Vendor field.

  • If you'd like to not import a field just select Don't Import. This will leave the field blank or with whatever value it previously held.

  • Once you are done mapping your product, click Start Import to begin updating your products. If you'd like to save you mapping settings click Save Mapping Presets.
