Custom attributes hold the product details that EasyChannel has no built-in field for, such as frame color or material. You create them once, fill them in on each product, and then map them to channel fields in a mapping template.
In this article:
Where is the Custom Attributes page?
Open Product Catalog, then Products Settings > Custom Attributes.
Each row shows the Custom Attribute Name, its Type, its Source, a Description and the Create Date. Attributes that EasyChannel created for you, for example when it imported listings from eBay, show System as the source.
How do I create a custom attribute?
Click + Create Custom Attribute.
Type the Attribute Name.
Pick a Type: String (Text), Number, Boolean (True or False), List or HTML.
Add a Description if you want a note for your team.
Click Create.
How do I edit or remove a custom attribute?
Use the buttons in the Actions column:
Update Custom Attribute (pencil) opens the same fields. Change them and click Update.
Remove Custom Attribute (bin) asks you to confirm first.
⚠️ Removing a custom attribute removes it from all your products, and it can't be undone. The confirmation says so too.
To remove several at once, tick them and click Bulk Remove.
Where do I fill in a custom attribute on a product?
Open the product (Product Catalog > Edit Product) and go to the Custom Attributes section. Click Add Custom Attribute to add a value, or tick Show only attributes with values to see only the ones that are filled in.
To change one attribute on many products at once, tick the products in the catalog and use Bulk Actions > Edit Product Attributes. See Bulk Actions in the EasyChannel Product Catalog.
Can I import custom attributes from a CSV?
Yes. Click Import Custom Attributes via CSV. The window lets you:
Choose the file: Upload File From Computer, Upload File From https Link or Upload From FTP/SFTP.
Turn the upload into a recurring import with Create a Schedule for the CSV File.
Map your CSV columns. The mapping table unlocks after you upload a file.
Click Start Import when the mapping is done.
FAQ
How do I send a custom attribute to a channel?
Map it in a mapping template. In the field's value box, choose Product Attribute > Custom Attribute. See Mapping Templates in EasyChannel Explained.
Why are there attributes I didn't create?
EasyChannel creates some itself. For example, when it imports eBay listings it adds attributes with the source System and the description “Imported from ebay”.
