Product properties are the fields of a product in your EasyChannel catalog. Mapping templates read them when you publish, so a complete product publishes with fewer errors. This article goes through each section of the product screen.
In this article:
Where do I see a product's properties?
In Product Catalog, click the pencil on a product to open Edit Product. New products open the same fields from New Product. The section list on the left jumps to each part of the product.
What is in General Details?
Field | What to enter |
SKU (required) | Your own unique code for the product. Every product needs a different one. |
Title (required) | The product name, up to 240 characters. Each channel has its own limit; the mapping template can shorten long titles. |
Subtitle | An optional second line, for example eBay's subtitle. |
Condition (required) | The product's condition, for example New. |
Condition Note | Extra details about the condition. |
Brand, Manufacture, Model Number | Who makes the product and its model. |
Store URL | A link to the product on your own store. |
Warranty | The warranty terms. |
SEO Keywords | Search keywords for the channels that use them. |
Catalog Category (required) | The product's category in your catalog. See How to Manage Product Categories in EasyChannel. |
Supplier | The supplier you buy the product from. |
The AI button next to Title and Subtitle writes the text for you.
Which identifiers can I add?
The Identifiers section shows UPC, EAN, GTIN and ASIN. Click Show more for ISBN, GCID, ePID and MPN.
Identifier | What it is |
UPC | The 12-digit barcode number, used mostly in the US. |
EAN | The 13-digit barcode number, used mostly in Europe. |
GTIN | The global trade item number. UPC and EAN are both kinds of GTIN. |
ASIN | Amazon's own 10-character product ID. |
ISBN | The number of a book. |
GCID | Amazon's ID for products of a brand in Amazon Brand Registry. |
ePID | eBay's product ID from the eBay catalog. |
MPN | The manufacturer part number. |
Leave a field empty if your product doesn't have that identifier. Which ones a channel requires depends on the channel and the category.
What is in Pricing?
Price, MSRP, Cost, Currency ($ US Dollar by default), Wholesale Price, Business Price, Floor Price and Ceiling Price. The mapping template decides which of them goes to each channel's price field.
What is in Description?
The Description editor, a Short Description and Bullet Point 1 to Bullet Point 5. Each has an AI button. For writing them with AI, see How to Translate Product Listings with AI in EasyChannel.
What is in Size and Weight?
First pick the Measurement System: Lbs/Inch or Kg/Cm. Then fill in the Product weight, length, width and height, and the same for the Package. The eBay mapping template sends the package values to eBay's package weight and size fields.
What are the other sections?
Media: the product's images and one video.
Inventory: stock on hand, reserved and available. See How to Add or Edit Product Inventory in EasyChannel.
Internal Notes: notes for your team.
Variations: sizes, colors and other options. The section notes that you must remove all inventory from the product before you add variations.
