Product categories group the products in your EasyChannel catalog. Every product needs one: Catalog Category is a required field. You then map each category to a channel category once, so its products publish in the right place.

Where is the Product Categories page?
Open Product Catalog, then Products Settings > Product Categories.
Each row shows the Category Name, the Category Path, the Category Source and how many Products it holds. Categories that came in with imported listings show the channel as the source (for example ebay) and keep that channel's full path.
How do I create product categories?
Click Create Categories.
Type a category name. To create several at once, separate them with commas.
Click Create.
To put products in the new category, set Catalog Category on each product, or tick many products and use Bulk Actions > Edit Product Categories.
How do I rename a category?
In the category's Actions column, click the pencil (Edit Category).
Change the Category name and click Save.
How do I delete categories?
Only an empty category can be deleted. On a category that still has products, the bin can't be used, and its tooltip says “You cannot remove the category with products.”
Move the products to another category first.
Click the bin in the Actions column, or tick several categories and choose Bulk Actions > Delete Categories.
