How to Map Categories for Accurate Cross-Listing

Category mapping is an essential step for successful cross-listing. It ensures your products are categorized correctly when published to new channels, allowing customers to find them easily. This guide will explain how to map categories in EasyChannel, including using AI automation for faster results.

What is Category Mapping?

Category mapping links the categories in your store (e.g., eBay, Amazon, Etsy) to the corresponding categories on another platform (e.g., TikTok, Shopify). This ensures seamless data transfer and accurate product listings across all channels.

Step 1: Access the Category Mapper

  1. Navigate to the Products Catalog from the left-side menu.

  2. Select a product and click Category Mapper from the available options.

Step 2: Map Categories Manually

  1. Choose the Target Channel

    • Set the channel where you plan to list the product (e.g., TikTok, Shopify).

  2. Copy the Existing Category

    • Find the product in the catalog and copy its category from the source store.

  3. Search for the Target Category

    • Paste the category name into the search bar.

    • Find your desired category.

  4. Select the Mapped Category

    • Review the suggested target category and confirm the match.

Step 3: Use AI Auto Map for Bulk Mapping

  1. Select Multiple Categories

    • In the Category Mapper, choose multiple categories at once from your source store.

  2. Click on AI Auto Map

    • Use the AI-powered auto-mapping feature to automatically match your store’s categories with the corresponding ones on the target channel.

  3. Review and Confirm Mappings
