Warehouses and Priority in EasyChannel

Add warehouses in EasyChannel, set your default warehouse, and see how warehouse priority decides which stock fills new orders.

Written by Avi Assa

A warehouse in EasyChannel is a place that holds stock. Each SKU's stock sits in one or more warehouses, and the warehouse priority decides which stock fills new orders.

In this article:

Where is the Warehouses page?

Open Product Catalog, then Inventory Management > Warehouses.

The EasyChannel Warehouses page with Add Warehouse, Priority, the default star, Actions and the locations switch numbered.
  1. Add Warehouse: create a warehouse.

  2. Priority: the order in which warehouses fill new orders.

  3. The star next to a name marks your default warehouse.

  4. Actions: set as default, edit, or remove.

  5. Create warehouses from channel locations: see below.

Other columns show the warehouse Type, where it was Imported From, a Description note you can type in, the Company Name, the address and Products. Click the Products number to open Inventory Management filtered to that warehouse.

How does warehouse priority work?

The app explains it in the Priority tooltip:

“The priority of warehouses determines which inventory is allocated to new orders for products with multiple warehouse inventories. For example, when a product is stored in two warehouses and both have inventory, the quantity from the higher-priority warehouse will be used to fulfill the order.”

The Priority column numbers your warehouses from 1, and each row has a drag handle next to its number.

How do I set my default warehouse?

  1. In the Actions column, click the star (Set Default Warehouse) on the warehouse you want.

  2. The star then shows next to that warehouse's name.

The Actions column on the EasyChannel Warehouses page with the set default, edit and remove buttons highlighted.

The pencil (Edit Warehouse) opens Update Warehouse Locations with the warehouse details. The bin is Remove Warehouse.

How do I add a warehouse?

  1. Click Add Warehouse. Create Warehouse Locations opens on the right.

  2. Fill in the details: Warehouse Name, Contact Name, Company Name, Email, Phone Number, Description, the address and Country.

  3. Click Create Warehouse.

The Create Warehouse Locations panel in EasyChannel with the warehouse name, contact, address and country fields.

To put stock in the new warehouse, see How to Add or Edit Product Inventory in EasyChannel.

What does "Create warehouses from channel locations" do?

It is the switch at the top right of the page. The app's tooltip:

“When on, importing listings creates a warehouse for every new ship-from location found on a channel, such as an eBay item location or a Walmart ship node. When off, no warehouse is created. Stock from a location that has no warehouse goes to your starred Default Warehouse, or to the first Merchant warehouse in this list when none is starred. Warehouses you already have are not changed.”

FAQ

My product is in one warehouse. Does priority matter?

Priority only matters when a product has stock in more than one warehouse.

Can I remove a warehouse from many products at once?

Yes. In Inventory Management, tick the rows and choose Bulk Actions > Remove Warehouses. You can remove the stock with the warehouse, transfer it to another warehouse, or override the stock in another warehouse. The window warns that this can't be undone and that it skips bundle products.
