How to Create Bundles and Kits in EasyChannel

Turn a product into a bundle or kit in EasyChannel: add its parts and a bundle quantity, and the bundle's stock follows the stock of its parts.

Written by Avi Assa

A bundle (or kit) is a product you sell as one item but build from products you already stock, like a gift set or a camera kit. In EasyChannel you add the parts to the bundle, and its stock is worked out from the stock of every part.

In this article:

How does bundle stock work?

Each part has a Bundle Qty: how many of that product go into one bundle. EasyChannel divides each part's stock by its bundle quantity, and the part that runs out first sets the bundle's stock.

For example, a gift set with 1 pillow cover, 2 candles and 1 basket:

  • 40 pillow covers ÷ 1 = 40 sets

  • 60 candles ÷ 2 = 30 sets

  • 15 baskets ÷ 1 = 15 sets

The gift set shows 15 on hand: the baskets are the limit.

How do I create a bundle?

The bundle is its own product, with its own SKU, title, photos and price. Create it first like any product (see How to Create a New Product in EasyChannel), then add its parts:

  1. In Product Catalog, find the bundle product and click the pencil to edit it.

  2. In the section menu, click Inventory, then Edit Inventory.

  1. In the Inventory Settings window, set Inventory Type to Bundles & Kits.

  1. Under Add Product, choose to search by Title or SKU, type in the box and pick the part from the list. Repeat for every part.

  1. In Bundle Qty, type how many of that part go into one bundle. Each row also shows the part's own On Hand, Reserved and Available.

  1. Click Save & Exit.

  2. Click Save, then Save to Catalog.

⭐ From the product page, Save & Exit only closes the window. The bundle is saved when you click Save and Save to Catalog. From the Inventory Management > Inventory Management grid, the same window saves with Save & Exit.

The product's Inventory section now shows the bundle's On Hand Qty and Inventory Type: Bundles & Kits. In Product Catalog, a B before the SKU marks a bundle.

How do I restock a bundle?

You don't change a bundle's stock directly. Restock its parts, and the bundle follows:

  1. Open Inventory Management > Inventory Management and search for the part.

  2. Click the pencil in the On Hand column, type the new quantity and click Save & Exit.

In the example, raising the baskets from 15 to 30 raised the gift set from 15 to 30 (the candles allow 30 sets). For more on changing stock, see How to Add or Edit Product Inventory.

How do I change or remove a bundle?

  • To change a part's quantity, open Edit Inventory again and change its Bundle Qty.

  • To take a part out, click the x on its row.

  • To turn the bundle back into a normal product, remove its parts and set Inventory Type to Warehouse.

Save the same way as when you created it.

FAQ

Why can't I find my bundle in Inventory Management?

Once a product is a bundle, it isn't listed in the Inventory Management > Inventory Management grid, because its stock comes from its parts. Open it from Product Catalog instead.

Can I see what changed a bundle's stock?

Yes. Open Edit Inventory on the bundle and expand Inventory Log. It lists the stock changes of its parts, with the SKU, event, user and old and new quantity.

Can a bundle use a variation as a part?

Yes. Each variation has its own SKU, so you can search for it and add it, like the Oatmeal pillow cover in the example.
