Today, we are going to be discussing the difference between a Draft Listing and a Live Listing. We will show you how to create each, and where are they are stored in your EasyChannel Listing Manager. Then to wrap up we will discuss how to publish a Draft and turn it into a Live Listing.

Creating a Draft

  • A Draft is a Listing that is not actively listed for sale on any marketplace. The only place your EasyChannel Drafts exist is in your Listing Manager EasyChannel Drafts Tab.

  • To Create a Draft, we just need to click the Create Draft button in our Drafts workspace.

  • This will open the Title page of the Create Listing screen. The first thing we want to do is fill in our Title and our Category, as these two fields are almost always required for any marketplace.

  • After filling in our Title and Category, we use the tabs at the top to navigate to the next section.

  • The next tab is the Product Details section. Here is where we fill out our Brand, SKU, UPC and Product Type.

  • If we scroll down to the bottom half, we can choose additional identifiers to use such as Tags for our own catalog and optional Identifiers for storefront listings. When we are finished adding our Product Details let's move to the next tab.

  • This section is the Variations tab. This is where we can create additional variations of our product to keep under the same product tree.

  • To Create or Edit a Variation, select the Edit Product Variations button in the upper left-hand corner of your workspace.

  • From the menu on the left select your Variation identifier (Size, Color, Type), and from the right choose the Variations for your product. When you are ready to save your new variations click Apply.

  • You can now set individual SKU, Price, and Quantity Fields for each of your Variations.

  • Now that we have our Variations set let's move on to Selling Details.

  • Since we have Variations the only thing we need to do here is decide if we are offering Volume Pricing Discounts. If so, we can decide the quantity that must be sold to qualify for the discount and the percentage of discount to trigger.

  • If we do not have Variations for our product the Selling Details screen will look like this.

  • We must decide if we our creating a Buy it Now listing or an Auction. We also can set the Wholesale Price and Shipping Fee costs here for Profit Calculation purposes.

  • The bottom half lets us set the Price for our product as well decide if we are turning Offers on. At the very bottom we have the option for Volume Pricing, as discussed above. Once the Selling Details are set, we can add Photos/Video to our Draft.

  • We are now in the Photos/Video section. Here we can choose the location of our photos and add them to our Draft. If you would prefer to drag and drop, just drag your images to the red arrow in the image above. If you are including video in your listing use the bottom tab to add video files.

  • All images/video will by default be hosted on eBay. To change this, select the Image Host option, marked in red in the image above. Let's move on to the Item Description section.

  • The Item Description section is split into three parts. The first part is the Design section. This is where you can select a Design Template to use or Create a New Template to apply.

  • The second section is the Item Description tab. This is where you will actually write and edit your description. Editing and Formatting tools are provided for you in the workspace.

  • The last section is the SEO tab. This tab lets you optimize your Draft for being found by search engines. You can set Keywords as well as Mobile Description to be shown when your listing is viewed on a mobile device. If you would like to just use your default Item Description just toggle the switch to On.

  • Once you have completed our Item Description tab we can move on to final tab, the Shipping and Policies tab. The first thing we want to do here is set our Business Policies. These need to be set before we turn our Draft into a Listing so might as well do it now.

  • In the bottom half we can set our Package Details as well as decide if our Listing will be visible on any international sites or not.

  • Once you have filled out your Shipping Details we are ready to save our Draft. Do this by clicking the Save as Draft button at the bottom of the workspace.

  • When your Draft has saved successfully you will get a Success message in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and the Draft will be added to your EasyChannel Drafts folder.

  • Several notifications in your Draft workspace will let you know that your Listings are being published.

  • Your Notification Center will alert you when your Listings are live.
