In this article you can find a collection of commonly used terminology and phrases found throughout EasyChannel and the Help Center

Here is where to come when you run across a word or phrase you don't recognize or maybe is used a little differently than you are used to. We will do our best to keep a complete and up to date Glossary for your reference.



A

  • Amazon - The world's largest E-Commerce marketplace. One of the available selling platforms available for integration to the EasyChannel platform.

  • ASIN - An Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is a type of Amazon internal catalogue number. Each ASIN is unique and always associated with a particular product or product variation. Every ASIN will be 10 digits and consist of a combination of letters and digits.

  • Auction - A type of listing, specifically on eBay, this listing allows buyers to bid on the item with the item going to the highest bidder. The format for an Auction is different from a Buy it Now listing.

  • Auto-Map - A feature of the Categories Mapper that allows you to let EasyChannel automatically map your categories to the best matching storefront categories, saving you the time of manually mapping each category yourself.

  • Available Quantity - is the quantity of an item that is in stock in your warehouses and not already spoken for through already made sales, or reserved stock.


B

  • BigCommerce - SaaS E-Commerce Store Creation/Management Platform. One of the available selling platforms available for integration with the EasyChannel platform.

  • Bin Location - Optional setting for products in your Product Catalog. Add a Bin Location to pinpoint your products location within the Warehouse.

  • Boolean - Boolean is a statement that can only be answered with a True or False. This can be used for certain Valid Value situations like when deciding whether or not to accept offers on your items.

  • Bulk Action - Bulk Action is the ability to select multiple items within the tool you're working in and apply a single change to all of the items at once. Bulk Action menus are found in most workspaces in EasyChannel.

  • Bundles and Kits - Bundles and Kits allow you to combine two products under one unique SKU to make selling package deals to your customers easier to do and keep track of. To learn more about utilizing Bundles and Kits, Click Here.

  • Buy it Now - A type of listing where the item can be purchased immediately for a set purchase price. Has a different format than an Auction listing.


C

  • Condition - Product Property required by all selling platforms that refers to the state of the item being sold. Accepted values are usually New, Used, Refurbished, etc.

  • Custom Attributes - are properties of a product created by you and attached to items in your Product Catalog. Examples would be Skirt Length, Screen Size, Outline Color, Has Tags, etc. For more on Custom Attributes, Click Here.

  • Custom Specifics - can be added by adding fields to your EasyChannel Mapping Template. For more on Custom Specifics and Template Mapping, Click Here.


D

  • Dashboard - The overview tab of your EasyChannel Main Menu. Your Dashboard shows you a snapshot of your sales and orders, shipping alerts, feedback scores, and inventory levels.

  • Default Warehouse - The Warehouse chosen as the Default Warehouse will always be denoted by a star next to the Warehouse name. When an item sells, it will be automatically filled from the Default Warehouse if possible (unless priority dictates otherwise).

  • Digital Goods - are items that can be bought, delivered, and consumed online. Examples are Music, eBooks, Digital Art, etc.

  • Draft - a copy of an item listing that is not actively listed for sale on a connected storefront. In this case your drafts will be stored in your EasyChannel Drafts Folder in your Listing Manager.

  • EAN - stands for European Article Number, a standard 13-digit barcode that provides European products with individual article numbers. An EAN identifies the specific retail product type, specific packaging configuration, and the specific manufacturer. The EAN is a predecessor of the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) standard, which replaced it in 2009.

  • eBay - EasyChannel supported Selling Platform.

  • ePid - Each product in the eBay catalog is uniquely identified by an eBay product ID (ePID). The ePid will be a 10-digit number.

  • Etsy - EasyChannel supported Selling Platform.

  • Falllback Field - is a Field provided in the EasyChannel mapping screens. This field is there for use when your CSV File has no matching field for the corresponding property, or you need to enter a constant value.

  • GCID - is the Global Catalog Identifier assigned by Amazon to the brands that have successfully completed Amazon Brand Registry. This number identifies that the products belong to your brand and it’s the only barcode you can use for your Brand Registered listings.

  • GTIN - (Global Trade Item Number) is a 14-digit number that can be used to identify trade items, products, or services in various data carriers such as barcodes and RFID.

  • Integrations - references the apps you have connected with EasyChannel. Can be marketplaces such as Etsy, eBay, Amazon or Social Media Apps like Facebook or E-mail.

  • ISBN - stands for International Standard Book Number and is a 13-digit number that identifies published books.

  • Linked Listing - a listing that is linked to the corresponding item in your Product Catalog. When changes are made to the item in your catalog, your listing will be automatically updated. To learn more about Linked Listings, Click Here.

  • Live Listing - is an active listing that is posted to a connected storefront. Will be stored in your Active folder in your Listings Tool.


M

  • Merge - refers to an option of what can happen when EasyChannel is importing products into your catalog and finds duplicate titles. In a Merge, the two items are combined and added together.

  • MSRP - Manufacturer' Suggested Retail Price, is the price at which the manufacturer recommends retailers sell its product. It reflects all the manufacturing and selling costs associated with a product. Often used in the automobile industry but also used elsewhere.


N

  • Notification Center - can be accessed with the Alarm icon on the main menu. Contains alerts and notifications on ongoing and recently completed processes and actions. Also, may contain error messages and their meanings.


O

  • On Hand Quantity - is the total quantity of an item that you have at a particular location. This takes into account both Available and Reserved Quantities.

  • Order Manager - is an EasyChannel Tool that allows you to Sync and Import your orders from across your storefronts. You can also take action on your orders directly from the Order Manager.

  • Override - refers to an option of what can happen when EasyChannel is importing products into your catalog and finds duplicate titles. In an Override the product is completely replaced with the new product with the same title.

  • Product Tags - are tags that can be created and applied, either individually or in bulk to products, listings, tickets, or orders for quick organization, sorting, or editing.

  • Report a Bug - feature included in the Get Help menu for recording screenshots or screen recordings to send to our development team. Can be used to quickly record issues with features and tools to submit for assistance.

  • Reserved Quantity - is the total quantity of an item in a warehouse that is already spoken for thru Open Orders.


S

  • Secondary Menu - is the pinned menu specific to each of EasyChannel's Tools. Always pinned inside the Main Menu, the Secondary Menu allows for an uncluttered workspace with easy navigation.

  • Selling Channel - refers to any selling platform compatible with EasyChannel that hosts user marketplaces or stores. Examples are Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, etc.

  • Setup Wizard - is the process that runs when you first log in to EasyChannel. The Setup Wizard will assist you with connecting your first storefront, inviting teammates, and more. To learn more about using the Setup Wizard, Click Here.

  • Shopify - EasyChannel supported Selling Platform.

  • Storefronts - refers to your connected store on any of our supported selling platforms. Examples of a selling platform would Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, etc.

  • Sync - short for Synchronization. In EasyChannel, Sync refers to the process of updating your EasyChannel to reflect the latest data and changes from your connected storefronts.

  • Team Members - each person with access to your EasyChannel account is referred to as a Team Member. They must be invited via e-mail to have access to the EasyChannel workspace. Team Members can be invited from the Profile Icon menu.

  • Up-To Quantity - Can be set as the ideal quantity for your storefront quantity number. When the warehouse number exceeds the Up-To Quantity the excess will not be displayed. When the warehouse quantity drops below the Up-To Quantity the warehouse quantity will be displayed. To learn more about Up-To Quantity, Click Here.

  • User Interface - is the way that you, the user, interacts with the EasyChannel platform. Examples of some things that are included in a User Interface are buttons, tabs, menus, etc. Each section of EasyChannel has its own User Interface and its own article in the help section familiarizing you with that Tool's Interface.
